Leadership: The Keys to Success (AGD 550)

COURSE DESCRIPTION 

This live webinar is designed to help dental assistants understand the principles of leadership, the differences in leadership styles, the impact good leaders make on the organization, and how to apply these principles to their own environment.

PRINCIPAL FACULTY

Virginia Cairrao, CDA, FADAA; Past President, ADAA
Virginia graduated from the CCRI Dental Assisting Program in 1983 and obtained her CDA in 1983. She was a chairside dental assistant for Dr. Philip Barr in Providence, RI for 24 years and now serves as his office manager. Virginia is an active member of the Rhode Island Dental Assistants Association having served as President, Secretary, Scholarship Chair and Judicial & Legislative Chair. She is also an active member of the American Dental Assistants Association having served as First District Trustee, Secretary and President. She achieved her Fellowship from the ADAA in 2009.

Virginia has been a speaker for the Rhode Island Dental Assistants Association, the Connecticut Dental Assistants Association, the Chesapeake Dental Conference and the Greater New York Dental Meeting.

Virginia is also very active in her community as an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bristol Fire Department. 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, the dental professional should be able to: 

1. Define leadership.
2. Recognize styles of leadership.
3. List characteristics of a good leader.
4. Recognize leadership skills.
5. Identify your individual strengths to become a leader.
6. Utilize leadership skills in the ADAA.
