This type of dental practice may also treat patients with special needs, such as developmental disabilities and patients with Down syndrome. This area of dentistry is similar to dental treatment for adults, but the dental team must be aware that primary teeth may require adaptations in procedures, the selection of dental materials may differ, there are two dentitions involves, and growth factors must be taken into account. In addition, the dental team may also have to deal with patient behavior management.
