The Role of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (AGD 550)

This webinar is designed for the dental professional to familiarize them with the duties and responsibilities associated with an expanded functions dental assistant and how they may provide added benefits to the dental practice.
Tyler Winter, CDA, LDA, RDA, FADAA completed his AAS in Dental Assisting at Minnesota State, Moorhead, MN and Community Dental Health Coordination, Dental Public Health and Education certificate at Rio Salado College in Tempe, AZ. Tyler is the Lead Oral Health Assistant at Loyola Medicine in Chicago, IL. Prior to his position with Loyola, he served as a dental assistant for Family Healthcare in Moorhead, MN, and Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Tyler is a dental health advocate working in a range of capacities--including volunteering, educating peers, and advancing the dental assisting profession.
After participating in this program, the dental professional should be able to:
- Discuss the evolution of the dental assistant into current-day practice.
- Describe the role and duties of the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
- Explain how the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant contributes to and benefits the dental practice.
- Discuss what the future holds for the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
