Uses of New Technologies in the Dental Office (AGD 130)

This webinar is designed for the dental professional to familiarize them with the latest hardware and software technologies that are available for the dental office.


Darrin R. Wan, CDA, EDDA, is the Dental Assisting Program Chair for the Sellersburg, Indiana campus of the Ivy Tech Community College. He has served in this position since January 2018, guiding the program to its current status of having been recently granted Initial Accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation as well as moving forward with the initial Fall 2020 cohort of students.

Prior to his current position, he served as a chairside and surgical assistant for 10 years at the Lee Specialty Clinic in Louisville, KY, where he had the opportunity to serve patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Mr. Wan serves both the Indiana Dental Association and the American Dental Assistants Associations, where he is a member of the Council on Education and Professional Development and the Committee on Student Relations.


After participating in this program, the dental professional should be able to:

  • Discuss what are the new trends in Hardware Technology.
  • Discuss what are the new trends in Software Technology.
  • Discuss what are the new trends in the COVID-19 age.
  • Discuss other areas of Dental Technology in 2020.
